| Golden Door Consulting. Doing My Thing. Posted: 31 May 2011 06:54 PM PDT From 1998-2007, I was self-employed. It was the best time of my career. I loved the freedom and flexibility it gave me. When I wasn't traveling, I'd sit at my computer in my pajamas until the middle of the day, with my darling Yorkie, Danny, at my feet. When I didn't feel like working, I didn't. Most of the time I worked really hard, but it didn't always appear that way to others.
