Photography Week Features: Daniel Nahabedian Posted: 04 Aug 2011 07:14 AM PDT We continue our look at photography to celebrate the launch of Bethany Salvon's awesome ebook, Getting Out of Auto. Today I am proud to feature Daniel Nahabedian, my all time favorite Armenian born, UAE raised, French passport holding photographer. Along with the title of Matador Life Associate Editor for the Matador Network, he regularly dazzles myself and others at his photography site Canvas-Of-Light.com. If there was ever a person fitting the moniker of ‘Global Citizen’, it’s Daniel. Before photography, I was heading nowhere I wanted to be. Despite a good job in a cubicle, a luxurious lifestyle and a promising career, I was feeling miserable. Passion was absent and I needed something to unleash my creativity. That's when I discovered photography after randomly buying a DSLR. It helped me develop my artistic side and see the world with new eyes. Despite what many people think, photography is an art that can be learned. You are not born with photography talent. All it takes in my opinion is passion and a lot curiosity. You also need to learn how to properly use a camera, get out of auto mode and spend hours and hours of experimenting. Digital makes it so much easier now as you get instant results and figure out how you can improve your shots. Photography helped me see the word in a different angle. It developed my curiosity which in turn fueled my passion for all the different cultures. It also helped me slow down dramatically in life and savor the moments. How many times have we stopped to admire a sunset, or a beautiful corner of a street we often drive on? Holding a camera now makes me look left, right, up, down, in front and behind me all the time and made me realize the world we live in has so much to offer than we think. Thanks Daniel! This has been a part of Photography Week at Almost Fearless, a week long look at photography to go along with our announcement of Getting Out of Auto, by Bethany Salvon of Beers and Beans. With a BFA in photography, a 10+ year career as a professional photographer, and an awesome portfolio of photos from around the world, there is a lot you can learn about getting the most out of your camera with Getting Out of Auto. Thanks for reading! Also featured on Photography week:
