A parade of children at the Copenhagen Carnival – video Posted: 10 Aug 2011 11:46 AM PDT As we walked along Strøget, the main shopping street of Copenhagen the carnival sounds of drumming and singing reached our ears. Down the pedestrianised road streamed a parade of children dressed in bright pink and green with bells and whistles with mums and dads hovering around on the sidelines or dressed up and walking with them. They reached the Stork Fountain on Amagertorv and circled around it before the singing and dancing finished and the parade dispersed. We learned later that it was the children's part of the Copenhagen Carnival or Københavns Karneval that was taking place in the city on the weekend we were there of 10-12 June.
