| Frappé with a view of Zante town Posted: 22 Oct 2011 12:32 PM PDT I’m taking an October break on the Greek island of Zakynthos where my sister lives and where we visit her every year. After some shopping in Zante town we did the typically Greek thing and drove up to the terrace at Bohali next to the Venetian fort where you have a bird’s eye view over Zante town and can survey the harbour. No prizes for guessing why they put a fortress up here to keep an eye out for Turkish invaders. Although the autumn days are setting in and the burning days of summer are over, we had the typical Greek summer drink of Frappé – chilled miky coffee with froth on top. My sister had a Freddoccino – a chilled cappuchino which tasted as if it had some hazlenut syrup in it – delicious, and this is the premier spot on the island to sit and sip it. The coffee may be expensive but on a sunny autumn day like this it was worth every penny for that view.
